Ep. 123: Tips for the Voluntarily Homeless (Ft. Dana Fuller & Nick Hahn)
Tuesday Sep 17, 2024
Tuesday Sep 17, 2024
My guests are stand-up comedians Dana Fuller (@danafullah) & Nick Hahn (@nickhahncomedy). They got their start performing stand-up in Boston before moving out to Colorado last fall to continue their pursuits. Their move entailed becoming voluntarily homeless, for Nick, & continuing their voluntary homelessness, for Dana. Hopefully you can glean some tips from our guests, just in case you ever decide to chase after your own dream and find yourself temporarily without a roof over your head.
Both of these dudes are wicked smart. Nick attended Boston University, studying evolutionary biology then moving to environmental policy & analysis, before dropping out during his junior year. Dana holds two more degrees than Nick, though I didn’t dig into biochemistry nearly enough to allow Dana to flex his mind for the fans. Fear not! Dana made sure to flex his regular muscles to show off his recent gains.
We learn during this episode that gyms are for more than just showering, how easy it is to become disillusioned about creating meaningful change when working in environmentalism, and we revisit the obscene pilot episode of Sesame Street from 1969. Dana tells stories from growing up, we chop it up about the first joke they ever wrote, and we hear from Dana about a show where he followed RFK Jr. at a Libertarian festival, Pork Fest.
Thanks to Dana & Nick for coming on & for the fun hang. Check out their open mic every Friday at Colorado Pinball Pub in Littleton & their monthly showcase in Monument!
