Ep. 52: Tend the Garden
Sunday Dec 25, 2022
Sunday Dec 25, 2022
Jesse Epstein is an electronic music artist called 'OSO.' While pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at UCCS, Jesse realized that he needed to chase his passion and dropped out to chase his dreams. He tells the story of getting too high at Decadence, how that experience shifted the way he approached attending festivals, shares about meeting one of his idols - DNMO - and how the way DNMO treated him has inspired him daily to give back to fueling passion in others. We reflect on the art of DJing, tell a few old tales from Monarch, including a story about how Sean saved the whole class from a Chemistry test.
Please check out OSO on Spotify, Soundcloud, and follow Jesse on instagram @jepstein33 - Rate InTALLerable wherever you listen and stay tuned for the Patreon releasing after the new year to support the show.

Ep. 51: Allegory of the Debate Partners
Saturday Dec 24, 2022
Saturday Dec 24, 2022
Usually, it's tradition to open one Christmas gift on Christmas Eve. This year your gift is Nathan Inge's return to Top Shelf Studios and InTALLerable. One of the fan-favorite episodes from 2022 was 'Ep. 10: High School Reunion' - but Nathan deserved a full-length appearance. Bless him for taking some time to come down and be on.
Besides being a quality person that we can all learn from, especially in how he approaches life, he is an extremely hard worker in his professional endeavors. Nathan is a software engineer at Amazon. He studied CS Engineering in college, before making the jump to a large Corporate company. Nathan and Sean were debate partners in High School, winning their first varsity tournament with their cogent arguments for and against whether GMOs were safe. Back then the World Health Organization was the gold standard for evidence, helping us convince both lay and experienced judges that we should win.
During this episode, we talk about Nathan's passion for biking and exploring new trails in the mountains East of Seattle. We debate free will or determinism in a light-hearted way, Sean makes his own definitions, and we introduce Nathan to Plato's 'Allegory of the Cave,' as it weaves in and out of our conversation.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays - Don't forget to check the tree tomorrow... You just might have a couple presents under the Top Shelf Tree!
Much Love to all, and to all, a much love.

Ep. 50: Mutually Assured Destruction
Wednesday Dec 07, 2022
Wednesday Dec 07, 2022
The time has come to reflect and return to the roots of InTALLerable. What started as a chaotically fun time between two friends working on improving their comedy, has become a search for human happiness through the lense of Sean's curiosity.
Episode 50 is a return to the origin story. Conflict, disagreements, but at the end of the day a shared understanding that regardless of our disagreements, we can laugh at the humor of life's chaos. Makana Gellatly returns to Top Shelf Studios to try his darndest to get everything and everyone cancelled. Lucky for him, Chris Albrecht joins the fun to make the case for Paleo-Nationalism - A term we 'coined' during this conversation. Remember as Makana always says, "it's all satire, unless you agree."
We discuss pointless wars, the FTX collapse that was called way back in Ep. 13, and how you "can totally trust" the FDIC guarantee. Mutually assured destruction is the title for a reason. Buckle up.

The following sentence was input to a text-based AI generator:
Write a joke about how an anti federalist and a leftist walk into a bar.
The AI returned something too good not to share with 'The Heights' -
An anti federalist and a leftist walk into a bar and the bartender says "What can I get you?" The anti federalist says "A beer and freedom!" and the leftist replies: "Make mine a margarita and social justice!"

Thank you all for the support, love, and belief you continue to bring my way. Thank you to Makana for being his true self. Thank you to all the guests who took a leap of faith to come an have a conversation in Top Shelf Studios. I am passionate about turning InTALLerable into something impactful. For those who feel lost, or without meaning and purpose; There's too much left to learn to give up any time soon, I promise you.

Ep. 49: Tyler Lund
Friday Dec 02, 2022
Friday Dec 02, 2022
Tyler Lund is an enigma. He may very well become our generation's Nathan Fielder, or Eric Andre; cultivating a brand of dead-pan, 'what-the-fuck-even-is-this?' comedy. His trip to Top Shelf Studios is the furthest a guest has traveled thus far; all the way from the big apple, New York City! Be sure to listen to the end so he can redeem all those skymiles.
Disclaimer: this episode contains real stories about real people and the human condition. Struggles, triumphs, passions, and fears help us uncover our truest self. We hope this episode connects the dots for anyone struggling with addiction and or mental health. Tyler's story, helps shed light on how these two afflictions work hand-in-hand.
Tyler studied Strategic Communications in Media Design at CU Boulder. Now he is dream-chasing in New York City, where he works in motion graphics and 3D animation. We talk about his journey through the pandy, both of our trips to the hospital around 2 years ago, and we dive into detail about important mental health truths we have learned through our own paths.
Remember how many people are thinking about you as you lay your head to the pillow each night; it would absolutely surprise you.
Tell your friends & family you love them. Life's too short not to tell them every chance you get.

Ep. 48: Tom Brokaw
Tuesday Nov 15, 2022
Tuesday Nov 15, 2022
Tom Brokaw is an American retired network television journalist and author. He was anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News for 22 years. That is not the Tom Brokaw I will be talking with today.
THIS Tom Brokaw is a Coe College "graduate" of 2020, who after working as an underwriter for a bank, decided to switch paths. THIS Tom Brokaw builds homes across Eastern Iowa and is finding "blue-collar" work to be entirely more fulfilling than the "white-collar" work he experienced after undergrad. He is wise beyond his years, exuding that "Iowa-Nice" everyone is always talking about wherever his frame will take him. Maybe he will be 'Heighted?' so that's no longer an issue...
We discuss everything from pronouns to national pride. From Kirk Thuggin's football acumen to public policy on the war on drugs, the conversation ebbs and flows as we joke about 'Meta District Court Judges,' and reflect on some funny college stories. You also might learn a thing or two about construction; what more could you possibly ask for?
Thank you to Tom Brokaw for his professionalism, time, and laughter. You're only 82, so there are plenty of good years left buddy.
Tell your friends and family you love them.

Ep. 47: Macy Scott (is so Hot)
Tuesday Oct 25, 2022
Tuesday Oct 25, 2022
Macy Scott is Usability Test Engineer in the Medical Device Industry. Since graduating from CU Boulder with her bachelors of science in Chemical and Biological Engineering, Macy has been running simulated use labs for surgical products. Usually, that means being in the room with men (eww gross), so Macy was well-prepped for her Top Shelf Studios appearance. We talk a lot about our lives, current events and our differing ideals, and solve all the problems; hard to believe, I know.
We finally figure out why women are so obsessed with Pete Davidson, play a new game called: “What’s in the White Girl’s Purse,” and discuss how Macy made a practice of ALWAYS reading before bed — even after hitting the bars! Quite the dedication to the craft, if you ask me. Macy works with Neurosurgeons, so speaking with me is certainly a step down in intelligence, but big ups in the chaos and fun department. If you're looking to buy her gifts, she fits perfectly in a Men's Medium shirt.
I am grateful to call Macy one of my oldest friends — Here’s to 20+ more!
Please rate the show wherever you listen and follow @intallerable on instagram. Website launches soon!! Stay tuned.

Ep. 46: Frank Dalle-Molle (Lost Son Found)
Monday Oct 10, 2022
Monday Oct 10, 2022
Frank Dalle-Molle is a former Monarch Ultimate player who is wise beyond his years, especially in his treatment of others; always wearing a smile and throwing a full-send bid layout during practice. Sean catches up with one of his High School Ultimate “sons,” after over 5 years apart. We talked sports, learning that Frank comes from Broncos Super Bowl legacy, and caught up about all we had be missing out on in each other’s lives throughout the last 5 years. Along the way, we talk shit, make fun, and poke jokes, both with each other and about life. Shit-talking is healthy. Frank hadn’t had the chance to speak freely, filling the room with his laughter for far, far too long. At least that’s the opinion of a big-hearted Dad whose been missing his boys.. Now our chance finally arrived.
Some promises are empty, but this one certainly isn’t: I promise this episode is InTALLerable GOLD until the very last drop. Frank is ‘Heighted’ after our conversation in Top Shelf Studios. Find him in Section 103 at Broncos Games.
Tell your friends you love them.

Ep. 45: Blessing in Disguise
Wednesday Sep 28, 2022
Wednesday Sep 28, 2022
Luke Dahlgren is a electronic music artist, musician, and photographer. He is moving to Tennessee to attend Darkhorse Institute in Nashville, with hopes of learning how to elevate his own craft as well as learning how to make a living off of his talents. Luke was badly injured in a bike/car accident after his last appearance in Top Shelf Studios, shattering his leg, requiring emergency surgery to save his foot from potential amputation. This incident has launched his sobriety, celebrating 1 month free from alcohol’s inherent negative externalities as we recorded this episode. We talk about the accident and his recovery, the importance of mental positivity — especially during recovery — while having our usual fun along the way, joking about how insanely f***** the world seems. Or even worse, is.
We made a grab-bag of mystery topics/events and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. At least in terms of how bad our notecard topics were. From 9/11 to the Third-Wave civil rights reformation, this episode has it all.
Tell a friend you love them.

Ep. 44: Quitter Returns, Kept his Laugh
Thursday Sep 22, 2022
Thursday Sep 22, 2022
Makana Gellatly has quit InTALLerable. He returns as an unpaid intern for an exclusive episode. Oh how the mighty have fallen. We talk about the new IRS agents, who will surely have "storm-trooper-like" aim as they fight the fall of the American Empire; Makana makes geo-political predictions as Russia and China team up; and we are lead through the purgatorial maze that is Makana's (probably unjustified) obsession with 'Deal or No Deal.' During the "After-Hours" portion of this episode, Sean digs into why Makana quit the show and what is next on his horizon. It's the boys in a heartfelt and purely authentic setting: 'Top Shelf Studios'; eat your heart out.

Ep. 43: Alec Flynn
Monday Sep 12, 2022
Monday Sep 12, 2022
Alec Flynn is a Stand-Up Comedian and host of ‘Transplants,’ a podcast about uprooting life to take a chance in a new city or state. Originally from Boston, after Alec graduated from Saint Anslem College in Manchester, New Hampshire, he moved to Denver to continue his pursuit of Stand-Up. He hosts ‘Sunday Funday’ at Improper City; an always fun lineup of local comics and national talent. Check it out @sundayfunday - You won’t regret it!
We talk about his journey in stand-up, how he approaches the writing process, and what he thinks newer comics can do to make strives in their act. The work-life balance is something we both continually manage, as Alec explains how it is a battle to keep enough creativity left in the tank to hone his true passion: (no not Tik-Tok) Stand-Up.
I didn’t get around to ‘Heighting’ Alec, during this Ep, so I guess that means you’ll have to eagerly awaiting his next appearance in Top Shelf Studios.
I am grateful for Alec’s time and insight. Hopefully fans can get excited about the potential of us working together on ‘Dad Behavior.’
Alec Flynn is genuinely a kind, thoughtful, and hilarious dude. You’d never know by looking at him.
Much Love
