Once told by a Chiropractor that he was ”too tall” to die anything but young — Sean Connolly is a stand-up comic, writer, & conversationalist who loves to learn about people, markets, and happiness. Sean is a door-guy at Comedy Works in Denver & tries to embody the mission of the small business he grew up immersed in, an expedition vehicle company called ’EarthRoamer,’ simply — ”Live Your Dream” InTALLerable has unintentionally become an applied continuation of Sean’s undergraduate research dissertation exploring ’Happiness Economics’ — Young people are desperate for community, purpose, and belonging. Sean will utilize his insatiable curiosity to explore culture & meaning. He talks to new guests about their passions, fears, and life’s adventures. Our host cuts through the noise to ”Height” guests, who are given their spiritual stature — their ”Heart-Height” — after a long-form conversation. Ep. 113: Holdin' Meat Boys (Ft. Anders, Lucas, & Telvin)
Friday Jul 19, 2024
Friday Jul 19, 2024
The Holdin’ Meat Boys are: Anders Lillquist, Lucas Mederos, & Telvin Mobley. They can each be found peddling joy at Comedy Works South at the Landmark, where they hold positions from the highly esteemed manager (Anders), to bar-tender (Telvin), to box-office genius (Lucas), and of course, regular ‘ole door-guys like Sean.
BE ADVISED: the following content should not be taken seriously, in any way. It is to be consumed for entertainment purposes alone. It is crass, full of satire & sarcasm, and will offend those who do not ready their ears. It’s rated triple-x, nudity in the audio form. It is also terribly funny for those who like to laugh. Not to be missed by our loyal fans!
If you like runaway truck ramps, this whole episode is like an eighteen-wheeler barrelling down the mountain at an uncontrollable speed. We talk about how white people don’t know how to be casual or cool and we wonder whether we can stop or slow the beast of technological progress. This episode is a “ragerbashion” of chaos, intertwined by Lucas’ deeply held resentment for a local Olympian.

Ep. 112: Medium of Exchange (Ft. Alan Bromwell)
Friday Jul 12, 2024
Friday Jul 12, 2024
We are blessed with the presence of a Comedy Works pro and Colorado native, stand-up comedian: Alan Bromwell. He tells us about his new show — Backstage — a panel show of comedians which gives audiences a glimpse into how comics chop it up with one another in the green room or other casual, away-from-stage setting.
Alan tells us about his experience of over 10 years in comedy. His favorite comics laid the groundwork of inspiration in the artform, which he has used to create his own voice in his comedy. We talk through all the leaps & patience it has taken to jump from doing comedy full time, to it being the main source of income relatively early on in Alan’s career.
We discuss similar experiences growing up in Colorado. Both of us were raised in areas where it was easy to play the comparison game to those around us who were really, really rich growing up. This led us to reflect on American versus World poverty, and we dig into how different U.S. poverty looks when compared to global absolute poverty.
A study about chimpanzees (mis)using “tokens to pay for sex” kicks off an economics conversation. We ask all the big questions, and still don’t get the answers we want. Then, after our spiciest batch of wings yet, hear a little about the importance of “the little things” in life, like finding a nice bagel place and not waiting 50 minutes. But also not worrying about the “scarcity of time” and how important living in the now is.
Last but not least, make sure to hear the legendary story ‘The Lady and the Trump Hat’ — our newest gift added to the studio! Alan fought through pheromone perfume and (probably) more to get this hat for us!

Ep. 111: Intersectional Special (Ft. Brian Sullivan & Tairee Dillard)
Friday Jul 05, 2024
Friday Jul 05, 2024
From hilarious black dudes, to missing limbs, this episode won’t disappoint! The latest ever-recorded episode of InTALLerable was full of fun with our new friends. True to our roots, it’s uncut, authentic madness the whole way.
For this very special late-night episode recorded on Juneteenth, TSS welcomed our guest: Brian Sullivan, a house comic at Loonees Comedy Corner in Colorado Springs and the host of ‘You Look Like’ a hilarious roast-style show he brought to the front range & beyond. Brian is an Army veteran who failed PE class in college. Ironic realities aside, Brian is well-traveled. He was born in Chicago, spent Kindergarten thru 4th grade in Des Moines, Iowa with his grandparents and eventually followed them to South Carolina. We talked about his journey in life & in comedy. I was eager to learn from him & share in some delicious smoked wings.
We were also lucky to be joined by a second guest, Tairee Dillard, another talented stand-up comedian from the Springs. While he may have “crashed” this episode, I think it was a fun hang (with two dudes clearly beefing on this particular night).
We wrapped up our lively conversation with Brian and Tairee discussing what they thought was going to be a proper Juneteenth comedy show, but instead was filled with hilarious mishaps and a karaoke machine as a means of production. Truly a must listen!
Make sure to follow Brian on Instagram (@_briantheelion) along with Tairee (@taireethecomedian) as they continue their journeys in comedy.

Ep. 110: Talha Khan
Friday Jun 28, 2024
Friday Jun 28, 2024
My guest, Talha Khan, is a heavily-involved activist protesting against the genocide of Palestinians by Israel military forces. Talha recently participated & coordinated the longest running student protest across the entire U.S. held at the tri-campus area of downtown Denver, where CU Denver, Metro State, & CCD coalesce. These protests were held in protest for academic institutions to disclose their investments and after transparent disclosure, divestment from any & all entities funding Israel.
Now, this is a comedy show, so I had to get my quips in where I could, no matter how difficult or distasteful it felt at times. We tried our best to inject satire & sarcasm when we could, while also speaking to the atrocities that the world can now watch on social media. Our conversation does not entirely center around the conflict between Israel & Palestine. We also discuss how Talha has found ways to make an impact through his work at the Boulder Homeless Shelter.
Ultimately, this episode is about catching up with an old high school acquaintance, who since I last saw him over eight years ago — has worked in the ski industry, then pivoted to cannabis after the pandemic impacted the slopes, and is now consistently dedicating himself and his energy to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
We discussed military AI, Talha’s redefinition of “making it” in life, the importance of “good-faith” as foundational bedrock of society, and of course we finally get to learn about the infamous “Milk-Runs” in our ‘After-Hours’ portion of the show.
You can follow Talha on Insta @talhathekhan

Ep 109: Thady Daddy (Ft. Thad B)
Friday Jun 21, 2024
Friday Jun 21, 2024
Thad B. is a house comic at Loonees Comedy Corner in Colorado Springs. He joins us to talk about his life, how his stand-up journey started in a community college comedy course, and his viral high school basketball mixtape — in which Thad recorded (full season) 2 pts & 40 turnovers. Wow. That takes a lot of heart, folks. We here at TSS love the moral player on the squad.
The class clown growing up, Thad tried his first cigarette at 11 years old and of course later his sister would go on to rat on him for smoking weed his first time. Way to kill the buzz, sis. He tells me the story of his first routine comedy club work & how it all fell apart from one google review. That’s right, your reviews (looking at you, Karen) make impacts on people's lives. So I guess what I’m saying is don’t forget to review InTALLerable!!
From a day job at Men’s Wearhouse, to the first joke he ever wrote, Thad is quick, thoughtful, and a great hang. Join us for a fun episode between two strong bench players with more heart than you can shake a stick at — whatever that means.

Ep. 108: Mustard Burns (Ft. Dave Ness AKA Rat Bastard)
Friday Jun 14, 2024
Friday Jun 14, 2024
My guest is a stand-up comic & notorious prankster, David P. Ness. Dave co-hosts a very funny podcast called ‘The Bong Cast with Spaghetti Jake & the Rat Bastard’ — Check it out! He also co-hosts a heckle-friendly bucket spot show every third Thursday called ‘BooHaha’ at Wide Right in Denver — it starts at 10:00 pm, so if you’re a night owl this one’s for you!
Mr. Ness got his start performing comedy in the open mic scene a couple years ago, after working alongside other funny people like Evan Joe & Spaghetti Jake at Comedy Works South, where he was the Sous Chef. He met all the members of his current comedy collective during his time working at Comedy Works.
Before moving to Colorado with only $800 and a plan to live out of his van, Dave had a decade-long career as an executive chef. He has catered for crowds at every major sports stadium in the entire country! Just think of all the burgers & dogs this guy has gotten his hands on over the years — gotta be well into the six figures, Hell, probably seven or eight!!
We discussed David’s 2020 journey across the United States where he racked up over 10,000 miles of driving, often stopping to disc golf along the way. I implored him to check out my favorite disc golf course, ‘Beaver Ranch Disc Golf Course,’ up in Conifer; if you like serenity & a challenge this course always delivers. I asked about his time studying chemistry at Purdue University. He ultimately decided to drop out with only one semester remaining, the thought of another titration lab was just too much to bear.
I explore if Dave can help me “get on the ride” and enjoy musicals, since he has a deep love and appreciation for pageantry & theater. I even have homework to watch the 1976 edition of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ - joke’s on me, cause I thought homeworks assignments were a thing of the past!

Ep. 107: Joy-Peddlers (Ft. Ashley Chapa)
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
Wednesday Jun 12, 2024
She’s back folks — THE Ashley Chapa is here for another fun time, this time with a semi-somber undercurrent, as we lay rest and record a retirement special episode for T.S.S. — our O.G. Top Shelf Studios. All good things must come to an end, thankfully momma Mod is here to “Height” the studio. Remember, these walls are just physical walls, it is the vibe within that carries the true weight.
We talked about my recent guest set at Comedy Works South for Jamie Lissow, the CW Denver door staff starting a pod, and how (or if) we can use social media in a (semi) positive way, told through Ashely’s experience posting for the first time in a long time. “Microwaved” gratification has infected our American culture, and the “microplastics” we continue to find in more & more Americans are non-critical thought & ideological self-worth.
Ashley live-reacts to the cover art for my upcoming book! She learns that not all billion dollar corporations are free from ties to unexplained deaths (we’re looking at you, Boeing), we hear about how great the people-watching is at ‘Monster-Jam’, and of course I get Ashley’s expert thoughts on which comics are amazing at crowd-work.
We want to hear from you! See the questions on this episode & tell us what you want to see next. It was quite a ride, but it’s time to build a whole new studio. Who knows, maybe more of you will keep messaging in to tell us that you found the super-secret video of InTALLerable??

Ep. 106: Schrodinger's Nuggets (Ft. Sam Krason)
Tuesday Jun 04, 2024
Tuesday Jun 04, 2024
Sam Krason is back to discuss the Denver Nuggets game seven. We recorded this episode the day before game 7, so we got to play a fun new game with Sam called: “Schrodinger’s Nuggets” where Sam is our “cat” & will measure alive/dead. Philosophers, delight. Nuggs fans with a heavy heart might just want to bail on the very end of this episode.
We discussed an ebay listing of a highly-coveted consumable — an opened pack of mango Juul pods — the pack has two pods remaining, and is listed at $2,000. This led us to wonder, what would be something you can buy now that the government will make illegal in the future? Essentially, if you were going to buy a pallet of ‘X’ consumable in 2024, and hold it away in storage hoping it appreciates in value, what would you buy?
InTALLerable can be educational too, as the facade of modern money is illustrated through the example of pineapple prices. You know about pineapples, don’t ya? Only one fruit grows from the plant, it requires a large soil area, and it only flowers every few years; surely their $5 price in Connecticut is found through natural market mechanisms.
Sarcasm aside, we had a silly-goose time together on this episode talking about the Mormon church acquiring most of the orange groves in Florida, the struggle of quitting vaping, and we learn that Sam has survived over a week without his wallet, after losing it during Mother’s Day brunch; praise be ApplePay and our digital overlords.

Saturday May 25, 2024
Ep. 105: Bicameral Pusillanimousity (Ft. Cameron MacKenzie)
Saturday May 25, 2024
Saturday May 25, 2024
My guest is a regular at Loones Comedy Corner in Colorado Springs, co-host of the Beanie Boys Podcast, and the son of a preacher man. He hosts ‘The Camedy Show’ at Lola’s Art Studio. Follow him on Instagram @deckhand420 — Go see him Wednesday, June 5th at Comedy Works for New Faces Round 1!
Cameron has lived in forty (40!) homes so far in his life. He’s only thirty-one! Come on now. This guy moves like the wind — you can’t hope to catch him, grab him, or hold him down — and yet his spirit is a warm spring breeze gracing the meadows & mountains, eagerly bringing together people to laugh & love. In his well-traveled 31 years, he grew up catfishing in southern Virginia, spent time in the city of Detroit, and even lived on a sailboat in Washington. The state, not the district; DC police would not be jazzed to see someone living in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.
Originally hailing from Canada and still exhibiting the “niceness” our northern friends are famous for, Cam started performing stand-up for punk bands in Colorado Springs while they were setting up for their shows. What a receptive and forgiving audience for someone getting their footing, huh? Yeah, right.
This episode is full-to-the-brim with fun. I could elaborate on how thrifting is a recession-proof skill, how fascinating it was to hear Cam’s beliefs on the afterlife coming from his upbringing surrounded by the community of church, or just how kindhearted & gracious he is as a person — but just go listen!
This one is unsevered, unlike Camerons achilles, which required the Dallas Cowboys surgeon to operate. Since we don’t exactly have Cowboys surgeon money, if you want to support the show & get TONS of bonus content, including vaulted episodes & EATIN’ with guests, head to Patreon.com/InTALLerable
The Tallest of thanks to our supporters who will be enshrined forever in our new studio (That’s right, Top Shelf is moving!) If you want to be enshrined as an O.G. supporter, it’s not too late! All Patreon supporters who join before June 30th, regardless of tier, will be enshrined on an installment in our studio.

Ep. 104: “Your Meat Purified Me” (Ft. Telvin Mobley & Lucas Mederos)
Thursday May 16, 2024
Thursday May 16, 2024
Telvin Mobley has a sultry voice fit for narration — he’s "giving" Morgan Freeman, as the kids would say — if I was producing a life story film, Telvin would be cast to narrate. When he isn’t behind the bar at Comedy Works South, he enjoys playing tennis. You won’t catch him reading a book (maybe an article), but he does have a knack for hilarity and is full of stories & opinions.
Top Shelf Studio was prepared for chaos, as Telvin began our conversation by advocating that some words we no longer use — mainly a few words that historically were used as a tool of racism — should be reevaluated for use in 2024. I’d write the word here, but the anti-racist pedagogy I have endured in Boulder public schools growing up and in higher-education academia, harpens at me to not. It rhymes with: "Who Knew?"
We discuss the metric system & conversion rates, how a TikTok AI debate between Trump & Biden teaching Calculus illustrates the downfall of American education, and I share with Telvin the recent issues faced by Google’s AI: Gemini. From skeleton keys, to the surveillance of US citizens, to Telvin’s hesitancy toward camping, this one has it all, so buckle up.
In the after-hours portion of the show, Lucas Mederos shares with Telvin the origins of his “No hands on my popular knapsack” sound-drop. That’s right folks, the infamous Eric Adams video explaining how to search your childs’ room for drugs & guns is BACK on InTALLerable.
